its etched in my heart,
the images you painted on my wall,
the mural you hoped to give to me,
when you finally felt your love,
but now pencil marks are all you see,
and the mural is just an outline now,
the paint remains untouched,
drying in the darkness,
ready to burst in those solid tin cans,
we remained untouched,
and so did our hands,

and i tried to erase those marks you made,
but they just wont go away,
now their only smudged and faded,
making this confusion worse,
just to see you drawing again,
'is this what it takes to win your love?'
isn't that what you said?
maybe i didnt hear you right,
you were to busy drawing that night,
marking up my heart,
why'd you press the wall so hard?
Were you hoping it would last forever?
Were you praying I'd never forget you?
I'll never forget you,
i can never forgive you,
but, i forgive you anyway,

and i just wish i could open those cans,
open up your feelings,
what are you painting in yourself?
and i love the way, you just tore it all apart,
lend me a brush,
and ill cross out all those hearts,
only to draw them back again,
on any other day,
if only i could cross you out,
why'd you say what you said?
"that would be heaven to me"
but right now this is hell to me,
I'm just hoping to get through this week,
and hoping one day you'll be painting again,
